Sturt Hwy safety improvements

23 Oct 2014

Maintenance works on the Sturt Highway to improve the surface quality of the road commences on Monday, 20 October 2014.

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is undertaking a total of 285 metres of surfacing works on the Sturt Highway between Twentythird and Twentyfirst Streets, Renmark.

The work will be undertaken between 7.00 am and 5.30 pm each day of the week.

DPTI will make every effort to minimise the impact on road users during construction hours, with the road remaining open to traffic and minor lane restrictions in place while the works are being undertaken.

DPTI advises a 25 km/h speed restriction will apply when workers are on site, with speed restrictions in place at other times until line marking is complete.

Works are expected to be completed by mid November 2014, weather permitting.

The works are being carried out at a cost of $38,000 as part of the Australian Government’s Infrastructure Investment Programme.
