Sturt Hwy safety improvements

10 Jun 2014

Works on the Sturt Highway to improve the surface quality of the road will commence on Wednesday 11 June 2014.

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) is undertaking a total of 390 metres of rut filling works on the Sturt Highway between Twentyfirst Street and Twentythird Street, Renmark.

The work will be undertaken between 7.00 am and 5.30 pm on each day of the week.

DPTI will make every effort to minimise the impact on road users during construction hours, with the road remaining open to traffic and minor lane restrictions in place while the works are being undertaken.

A 25 km/h speed restriction will apply when workers are on site, with speed restrictions in place at other times until line marking is complete.

Works are expected to be completed by mid June 2014, weather permitting.

The works are being carried out at a cost of $39,000 as part of the Federal Government’s Infrastructure Investment Programme.

DPTI thanks motorists for their patience while these essential works are carried out.
