The Gallipoli Underpass is the State Governments first step to transform South Road into a continuous non-stop route.
The South Road Upgrade / ANZAC Highway Underpass project focused on improving the operational efficiency of South Road to meet the freight transport accessibility needs of industry and freight terminals, depots and warehouses along the industrial north-south spine to the west of the city (including the Airport) and the industrial area to the north.
