Important information for heavy vehicles
Speeds for heavy vehicles on the South Eastern Freeway in the work area will be restricted to 40kph for the duration of the works.
The arrester bed just east of the Toll Gate will be unavailable for a period of approximately two weeks during working hours. Confirmed dates and details will be provided on the project website and social media two weeks prior.
During this time, a Truck Mounted Attenuator (TMA) will be on-site for use by any errant heavy vehicle. A Truck Mounted Attenuator or impact attenuator, also known as a crash attenuator, is a device intended to reduce the damage to structures, vehicles, and motorists resulting from an errant motor vehicle collision. TMAs are designed to absorb the colliding vehicle's kinetic energy. An image of a TMA is below.
