About the project

We are improving safety and connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists on Kings Road in Salisbury Downs.

We are delivering a new Bicycle and Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing (BPAC) on Kings Road and a new Shared Use Path between Kings Road and York Terrace, adjacent to the Gawler railway corridor in Salisbury Downs.

    What's happening

To minimise impacts to the community, works will be undertaken in two stages.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Actuated (push button) Crossing

Works will commence on the new BPAC in late 2025, with completion expected in early 2026. Advance notice will be provided before any works commence.

The existing pedestrian signals (150 metres west of the rail crossing) will be removed as part of these works but will not be decommissioned until the new BPAC is active.

    Shared Use Path

We are currently working through the detailed design and will provide more information as the project progresses. Construction is expected to commence once the new BPAC has been completed with overall project completion expected in mid-2026.
