Another key milestone for the Northern Connector project is nearing completion, with the new bridge over the Port River Expressway targeted for opening in the coming months.
Works are progressing well on the Northern Connector Project. This drone footage displays the extensive earthworks well underway for the construction of the 6 lane motorway including the Northern and Waterloo Corner Interchanges.
More than 200 South Australians are being employed on the project, with paving works set to begin in coming months creating at least 40 extra jobs and pumping $11 million into local industry.
A graduation ceremony was held recently at Northern Connector as six employees from the project were awarded a Certificate II in Civil Construction as part of a training program designed to help employees transition to the construction industry from other industries.
Drone footage shows the major earthworks that have taken place at the Southern interchange with over 1 million tonnes of fill being placed to date.
