Community Wildlife Project
The Community Wildlife Project provides the opportunity for local schools and community members to work with DIT and their local council to offset the loss of wildlife habitat caused by necessary vegetation removals for the delivery of the Rail Revitalisation program. DIT has been providing information sessions, nesting box building workshops and has installed over 70 nesting boxes across three Council areas along the alignment of the newly electrified Seaford line.
The project provides information sessions and building workshops to the community with the key role to education the community on the use and attract native birds and other wildlife into their local area.
