A Friday Note - 18 May 2018
Today I’m attending the Transport and Infrastructure Council meeting, which brings together Transport Ministers and department heads from across the Australian States and Territories, as well as New Zealand.
It is a good chance to see what transport matters are being prioritised across the country.
Today is National Walk to School Safely Day, which encourages all primary school aged children to walk and travel safely to school and aims to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.
Our Way2Go program encourages people to get involved not just today, but as often as possible. Details here.
On the Right Track
Our on the Right Track team continues to make a difference to Aboriginal people living in remote communities, helping to improve road safety and driver outcomes in areas where it can be very difficult to get a licence.
Brenda (pictured below) is the latest to benefit, recently passing her learner’s test.
Reconciliation Week breakfast
DPTI will host two tables of 12 at the National Reconciliation Week Breakfast on Monday 28 May.
The event will be held at the Convention Centre and is hosted by Reconciliation SA.
