A Friday Note - 25 August 2017

Dear all,
Cool and mainly clear days this week.
SAFETY
Life jacket regulations are currently being reviewed with a particular focus on increasing the safety of children and keeping the boating community safe. Consultation has begun and you can have your say here.
As of midnight on Thursday, August 24 there had been 63 fatalities on South Australian roads so far this year.
CAPITAL INITIATIVES
On Thursday, we took a significant step in our new way of delivering road, rail and building projects, with the calling for Expressions of Interest for a bundle of works including the Oaklands Rail Crossing separation, Port Adelaide Rail Spur and Park ‘n Rides at Klemzig and Tea Tree Plaza.
We are aiming to deliver works more quickly and efficiently, as well as encourage more work for South Australian workers and businesses.
LUNCH ‘N LEARN
The next DPTI Lunch ‘n Learn seminar will explore anxiety and depression in the workplace and ways to recognise the signs and symptoms of depression and anxiety, and provide support to co-workers. DPTI staff can register to attend with the DPTI Library.
FLASHBACK FRIDAY
Today’s Flashback Friday photo is of the signal cabin at Adelaide Railway Station in the early 1900s.
