National Ride2School Day

The Way2Go program encourages all schools and families across South Australia to join with more than 350,000 students across the nation who will ride, walk, scoot and skate to school  on national Ride2School Day - Friday 22 March. It’s all about being active on the journey to and from school and leaving the car at home. Where distance or time is a barrier why not try parking further away from the school and walking in from there.

There are many ways school communities can celebrate and encourage participation including:

  • healthy breakfasts to celebrate active travel to school
  • celebration assembly with special guests to encourage participation
  • raffle  for children who travel actively with the chance to win small prizes
  • house competition to  earn points towards their house trophy / cup
  • using the day to begin a series of regular active travel days (once a term / month /week)

You can register for this national event here.

Once registered you will receive a Ride2School Day pack including posters and resources to help your school celebrate.
