Safety on various sections of roads in the Limestone Coast will be improved with more than 570 metres of pavement rehabilitation and surfacing works commencing on Thursday, 2 November 2017.
Pavement rehabilitation and surfacing works to improve the surface quality and extend the life of the road will occur at the following locations:
The work will be undertaken between 7.00 am and 5.30 pm Monday to Sunday, weather permitting, except for Wimmera Highway and Riddoch Highway, where works will occur
between 6.00pm and 7.00am.
Every effort will be made to minimise the impact on road users during construction hours, with the road remaining open to traffic with minor lane restrictions in place while the works are being undertaken.
A 25 km/h speed restriction will apply when workers are on site, with a maximum 80 km/h speed restriction being in place until the reinstatement of the pavement marking is
These works, including all pavement marking, are expected to be completed by the end of November 2017, weather permitting.
The works are being carried out at an estimated cost of $365 000 as part of the State Government’s Periodic Road Maintenance Program.

The South Australian Registrar of Motor Vehicles will refuse the registration of light vehicles fitted with defective Takata ‘Alpha’ type airbag inflators from 1 November 2018 until they are rectified to ensure the safety of all road users.
The lowered motorway constructed as part of the $801 million Torrens Road to River Torrens Project Torrens will be opened to traffic on Saturday 29 September.
Preliminary works for the upgrade of the Main North Road intersection with Dalkeith Road and Smith Road are currently underway, with Telstra early works to commence from Wednesday 5 September.
