Heysen Tunnel (Crafers bound) routine wall cleaning and essential safety management works

16 Feb 2016

Motorists are advised of wall cleaning and essential safety maintenance of electrical systems, including the ventilation, lighting, fire detection and emergency management systems, which will require the partial closure of the Heysen Tunnels.

Every effort is being made to reduce the impact on motorists by conducting the work to these vital safety systems within the tunnels during off peak times.

Associated traffic restrictions are as follows:

Wednesday 17 February 2016

The Crafers bound tunnel will have two lanes closed from 8:00pm until Midnight.

Speed restrictions will apply.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the tunnels at all times.

The Department of Planning, Transport, and Infrastructure (DPTI) will monitor weather forecasts and may delay works in extreme weather conditions.

The Department apologises for any inconvenience and thanks motorists for their patience.
