South Australia has adopted the national definition for high powered vehicle restrictions for provisional licence drivers.
The change, which came into effect on 1 March, introduces a power-to-weight ratio limit of no greater than 130 kW/t for vehicles manufactured in or after 2010.

Changes to the Graduated Licensing Scheme (GLS) aimed at keeping young, inexperienced drivers safe will come into operation from Monday 28 July.
