This form must be completed for all vessels intended to be used commercially in South Australia that are:
a) not yet built / constructed
b) have never been under commercial survey in South Australia.

pdfDoc Change of Ownership (96KB)

This form must be completed when a vessel - under current commercial South Australian survey - is bought or sold. It allows the office to update contact details in the system and ensures accuracy of ownership details for tax and insurance purposes. This information can also help in search and rescue operations.

There is no fee for this service.

Please note - it is an offence not to inform the department when such a change occurs.

This form must be completed when you own a vessel - under current commercial South Australian survey - and you move house or change company address. Please be advised that it is an offence not to inform the department when such a change occurs.

pdfDoc Application to alter expiry date of Certificate of Survey / Inspection / Registration (98KB)

If you are unable to arrange an inspection of your commercial vessel - by a DPTI Marine Surveyor - on or before the certificate expiry date, please complete this application requesting to alter the expiry of your Certificate of Survey / Inspection / Registration. Upon approval of your application, the certificate expiry date can be changed and the vessel will remain in current South Australian survey, enabling you to continue operating legally.

pdfDoc Crewing Determination Application (100KB)

For all new Class 1 (A-E) and Class 2 (A-E) vessels, you must apply for a crewing determination - outlining your area of operation and your crew and passenger numbers. Upon receipt of the application the Crewing Committee will review the vessel’s stability and other details in order to make a determination, which will be printed in the Government Gazette. 

There is no fee for this determination.

If you wish to change or alter the classification of your commercial vessel, please complete this application form and return to Commercial Marine Services for processing. Please note that an inspection of your vessel will be required and stability assessment may also be required.
