Three schools on the go at Salisbury

Works at three Salisbury schools are underway in South Australia.

Building contractor, Baulderstone, took advantage of the recent school holiday break to commence early works on three schools projects to include the erection of site fencing, diversion or disconnection of services and the demolition of existing buildings.

At Salisbury Downs Primary school, demolition of the existing building is complete and the site has been cleared for the construction of a new school hall.

Demolition is also underway at Salisbury Primary School to make way for a three new facilities - a hall, general learning area and library.

At the Salisbury Heights Primary School services diversion is also nearing completion. Demolition will then take place to make way for the construction of two new general learning areas.

These newly created spaces are suitable for the delivery of a dynamic and engaging early years’ curriculum.

Baulderstone Design Manager, Gary Dare, commented that the benefits of the schools projects can be felt widely.

“The projects provide good training and skills development opportunities for the construction industry,” he said.

Baulderstone has been awarded a total of six schools under round one of the BER. It is anticipated that there will be in excess of 100 people engaged on the BER Schools projects for Baulderstone during the course of the works.

These school projects are funded by the Australian Government’s Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan as part of round one Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) Building the Education Revolution (BER).
