Slab is down at Highbury Primary School
Sitzler have laid the slab for a new library at Highbury Primary School .
The new library is funded under round one of the Primary Schools for the 21 st Century Building the Education Revolution program as part of the Australian Government's $42 billion Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan.
“The new library will be a 21 st Century modern purpose built resource facility that will house thirty computers and is part of a suite of improvements being made to the school with the BER funding,” said Mr Paul Cahalan, Highbury Primary School Principal.
The school is also receiving refurbishment works to its existing hall. The new and improved hall will be used as a multifunction self contained facility for students to play instrumental music, undertake sports activities and participate in performing arts.
Existing teaching classroom areas are also receiving a new coat of paint and recarpeting.
Sitzler have been awarded nine Building the Education Revolution (BER) projects.
Peter Corrie, Project Manager at Sitzler commented that the additional BER work has been a huge benefit to their business particularly in terms of short term growth of their South Australian office.
“Additional exposure to design consultants and the wider community has enabled us to further promote our capabilities as a premier mid-tier construction and project management company,” said Mr Corrie.
Whilst Sitzler have utilised existing staff on the BER projects, they have also employed new staff as a result of the additional work to include a project manager, two forepersons, two building graduates and a building under-graduate.
Sitzler have also involved local electricians and plumbers for input into the design work of their BER projects.
