projects underway

Pennington Primary School works

The Pennington Primary School community is very excited about receiving a new hall as part of the Primary Schools for the 21st Century program.

“The new hall will be a multipurpose facility that will serve not only the school but also the wider community, it will have a canteen food operating area, performing arts and sports area,” said Ms Catherine Cox-Walliss, School Principal Pennington Primary School.

“The hall will also be used for Vietnamese School on the weekends,” said Ms Cox-Walliss.

The School and the building contractor, Samaras Structural Engineers, have formed a stronger partnership whilst working on this project.

“Our year 5 and 6 students have been undertaking interviews with the builders and have created a Pennington Primary School Development blog spot that families of the school along with students can visit to see how the hall is progressing,” said Ms Cox-Walliss.

With the National Schools Pride funding, all classrooms are also receiving interactive smart boards.

“As we are a New Arrival School, the new smart boards will help support English acquisition of students,” said Ms Cox-Walliss.

With the National School Pride funding, the School is also increasing the number of car parking spaces for staff, improving School signage to assist new enrolling families and receiving an outdoor covered learning area.
