Hackham East Schools BER works
Building the Education Revolution works are well underway at the Hackham East Primary and Junior Primary Schools.
The Primary Schools for the 21st Century (P21) works have involved almost completely demolishing the Junior Primary School which is receiving an eight classroom teaching block.
In addition, the Primary School is receiving a four classroom teaching block which will feature a large open performance arts space with full kitchen and canteen facilities and an amenity area between the Junior Primary and Primary School classroom blocks.
“The new performance arts space will be able to be used by students and the public which is just superb, the whole community is excited,” said Bob Thiele, School Principal Hackham East Primary and Junior Primary Schools.
Pike Construction Pty Ltd is undertaking this P21 work.
As part of the National School Pride (NSP) works, the Schools will also be receiving three outdoor shade shelters with outdoor furniture. Two will be used for gardening and the other will be the meeting place for the tucker trail. The tucker trail is an Aboriginal trail around the school where students are growing different bush tucker.
The NSP works also include a new multimedia room for the library and increasing the size of the School’s office and reception area space.
