Economic Stimulus Plan gives builder confidence
Qattro has commenced construction on 16 new homes at Hackham as part of stage one construction for social housing under the Australian Government’s Nation Building Economic Stimulus Plan (Economic Stimulus Plan).
Prior to the Australian Government’s announcement of the Economic Stimulus Plan, Qattro had planned three full time position redundancies.
However due to renewed confidence in the building industry market, as a result of the Economic Stimulus Plan, Qattro was able to maintain two of these full time positions.
Most recently, Qattro has also expanded its contractor base to support its renewed activity forecasts and has introduced three new full time positions and one new part time position.
The Economic Stimulus Plan has given Qattro the confidence to plan positively for the future.
“Instead of planning a reduced activity cycle, we now have the confidence (triggered by government stimulus action) to plan for maintained and most likely expansive activity,” said Mr Bradley Jansen, Managing Director, Qattro.
Mr Jansen also said, that this confidence, coupled with Quatto’s responsible management, has helped Qattro view this economic cycle as one of opportunity as opposed to one of doom and gloom.
Construction is due to be completed in the first half of 2010 in accordance with all Housing SA standards.
