Black spots works commence
South Australia has received $12million under the Australian Government’s Black Spot program through the Nation Building-Economic Stimulus Plan for safety improvements at intersections.
Preparation works have started at one of seven intersections for the installation of mast arms at the intersection of Grand Junction Road with Port Road and Commercial Road.
The works are to improve the visibility of the signals and reduce the potential for right angle and rear end crashes.
The six other intersections scheduled for works are summarised below:
- Extra traffic lanterns at the intersection of Old Port Road and Tapleys Hill Road.
- Extra traffic signal lanterns at the intersection of Port Road and Woodville Road.
- A traffic signal mast arm at the intersection of North East Road, Nottage Terrace and Northcote Terraces.
- Traffic signal mast arms on the north and south approaches at the intersection of South Road, Ashwin Parade and West Thebarton Road.
- Four traffic signal mast arms at the intersection of South Road, Marion Road and Flagstaff Road.
- Traffic signal mast arms on the north and south approaches at the intersection of South Road and Henley Beach Road.
Preparation works underway at Port Road intersection with Grand Junction Road and Commercial Road for installation of Mast Arms.
