A new place to call home

An old property owned by Housing SA in Elizabeth North was recently upgraded thanks to funding from the Commonwealth Government’s Nation Building – Economic Stimulus Plan.

A middle aged mother and her son can now call this newly renovated house home.

The mother, who has Multiple Sclerosis and is cared for by her son, has been diagnosed with cancer and is a victim of Domestic Violence.

This new home provides ample space for the specialised furniture the mother requires.

The extensive renovations include:

  • Replacement of electrical wiring and fittings
  • Windows replaced
  • Interior and exterior plumbing
  • Flooring has been replaced
  • Bathroom sink and tiles replacement
  • Laundry upgraded
  • New roofing
  • Painting throughout the interior and exterior
  • Fencing replaced
  • Rainwater tank
  • Concreted driveway
  • Landscaping

The upgrade to the property has been completed by SA Building Pty Ltd.

Their representative said that SA Building has been involved in several housing upgrades for the National Stimulus Package.

“It has had a positive impact on our company in a number of ways.”

“As we have had the privilege to win more than one tender, we have had several projects running simultaneously.”

“This has meant that we have had to take on more tradespersons.”

“We are also currently in the process of taking on more than one apprentice, and we will also be considering taking on more office staff in a trainee capacity.”

Renovations started in July and were completed at the end of November.
