The department encourages students to spend one to two weeks working within a chosen area in the department to observe and participate in its daily operations. The department's work experience program provides students with an opportunity to:
- explore a variety of career paths, including Civil Engineering
- develop skills that will help in obtaining employment in the future, like communication, problem solving and working with others
- gain knowledge about working in a South Australian Public Sector department.
Who can apply?
Work experience placements in the department are available for secondary school students from Year 10 to Year 12, as well as tertiary students.
It is recommended that you speak to your teacher or counsellor regarding work experience programs in the first instance.
