Traffic Management Centre Operator

The Traffic Management Centre Operator is responsible for providing a range of monitoring services relating to traffic control and reporting systems to facilitate efficient, effective traffic flow on the Adelaide metropolitan road network; facilitating early response to incidents and initiating appropriate corrective actions to minimise the impact of traffic disruptions.

Special Conditions: The Traffic Control Centre operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position entails shift work on a regular basis, and may include occasional short notice out of hours work. The position is located at Norwood.

Trades Coordinator

The Trades Coordinator reports to the Operational Manager, Made Available Trades and works in close liaison with the private facilities service provider’s on site facilities manager, (FM) to deliver a structured facilities management program for SA Health sites. The Trades Coordinator is primarily responsible for the management, administration and supervision of DPTI trade employees located within SA Health sites. In conjunction and consultation with the FM, roster and allocate employees to various maintenance tasks and projects within SA Health sites; Provide key liaison with the FM, AGFMA Unit and DPTI and oversee all operational issues related to trade based activities; Develop systems to measure employee performance in order to meet client expectations and consult directly with the FM on matters that directly relate to operational performance in terms of employee performance; Provide performance reports to the AGFMA Unit on any issues arising from the FMs contract performance with particular regard to the allocation and control of public sector employees; Undertake dispute resolution at the local level and, when appropriate, escalate major disputes to the FM and, if appropriate to the Operational Manager, Made Available Trades; When necessary and appropriate act as an expert in the field and when problems arise problem-solve and follow up; Negotiate between the client and the FM to resolve operational issues in relation to the delivery of work; Build a collaborative relationship with the FM and the client; Ensure quality assurance processes are embedded in routine management practices.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: Relevant trade based qualification or the equivalent gained through experience and training in building maintenance.

Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and planning all aspects of projects from receipt of a project proposal to project completion. The role is also responsible for implementing project management processes necessary to achieve the project’s goals and objectives, in accordance with departmental systems and managing processes which minimise the department’s risk exposure.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: TGO5 - Possession of a recognised qualification approved as being appropriate to the career group or alternative as defined within the classification standards. PO3 - Professional Engineer. 

Special Conditions: This position has been classified as a position of trust. The incumbent is subject to a satisfactory criminal history / record check in line with departmental policies and procedures. The position is located in the department’s Northern and Western Region based at Port Augusta. Some work outside of normal hours and travel necessitating overnight absences will be required. A current driver’s licence is essential. Must be willing to undertake training courses as required.

Construction and Maintenance Worker (CMW5)

The Construction and Maintenance Worker is responsible for the operation of a range of maintenance activities associated with road/bridge construction and maintenance.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: Possess a current Class MR (or above) truck licence. Possess or be prepared to obtain an Equipment Operator’s OHS Competency Qualification. Possess or be prepared to obtain a Statement of Attainment of the General Work zone Traffic Management Course. Please refer to the role statement for more essential qualifications. .

Special Conditions: The role will be based at the Murray Bridge Depot however applicants must be prepared to work on either a temporary or continuing basis, at other locations within Field Services. Work a 9 day fortnight (or other roster as appropriate to the workgroup). Intrastate travel including overnight absences will be required. Will be required to undertake appropriate training courses. Medical and functional assessments will be required prior to appointment and undertaken on an annual basis.

Undergraduate Vacation Employment Program

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) offers paid work placements for tertiary students over the summer vacation period. The program is available to tertiary students who are undertaking an undergraduate degree. Currently placements are available in the following disciplines: engineering (civil, structural, transport, electrical/communications, general); statistics, mathematics (sciences/modelling); planning, law, economics, construction management (surveyor/architect); business, information management, environmental science, IT/service delivery and sports science.

Special Conditions: The 2014/15 program will occur over an eight to twelve week period between 1 December 2014 and 27 February 2015.

Note: The program is open to students undertaking an undergraduate degree. Preference will be given to students completing their second, third or fourth year of study. Please note that your application form must be signed and all relevant attachments included.
