Senior Technical Officer, Geospatial Services

The Senior Technical Officer, Geospatial Services is responsible for facilitating the timely and cost effective completion of survey contracts and spatial information services that satisfy client needs and contributes to the positive promotion of survey and spatial information services. As a senior member of a multi discipline team, the Senior Technical Officer, Geospatial Services also exercises significant technical responsibilities by contributing to the operational management and continuous improvement of survey and spatial information services.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: Possess a qualification recognised to be classified in the technical grades including survey, GIS, spatial information science or a related discipline.

Undergraduate Vacation Employment Program

The Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) offers paid work placements for tertiary students over the summer vacation period. The program is available to tertiary students who are undertaking an undergraduate degree. Currently placements are available in the following disciplines: engineering (civil, structural, transport, electrical/communications, general); statistics, mathematics (sciences/modelling); planning, law, economics, construction management (surveyor/architect); business, information management, environmental science, IT/service delivery and sports science.

Special Conditions: The 2014/15 program will occur over an eight to twelve week period between 1 December 2014 and 27 February 2015.

Note: The program is open to students undertaking an undergraduate degree. Preference will be given to students completing their second, third or fourth year of study. Please note that your application form must be signed and all relevant attachments included.

Chief Auditor

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional valuer to perform the newly created role of Chief Auditor. The role is responsible for managing the quality assurance program for the Valuer-General and ensures accurate maintenance of the valuation roll. Reporting to the Manager, Operations and Valuation Services, the role will operate within broad guidelines and participate in the development of technical policy through collaboration with staff in the State Valuation Office. Key responsibilities of this role include: governance structures to ensure compliance and accountability; standards and practices to facilitate quality, integrity and impartiality; internal audit functions to identify and remedy any procedural weaknesses; valuation record creation function and oversight of the revisit program. The Chief Auditor will play a major role in strategic business planning and engendering innovation and cultural reform.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: Must be a qualified Valuer in accordance with the Land Valuers Act 1994 (see Regulation 4 of the Land Valuers Regulations 2010) with at least 5 years experience in property valuations.

Asset Manager

Cycling Coach
