Senior Technical Specialist

The Senior Technical Specialist position resides within the Parliament Network Support Group within the IS Operational Services section. The role undertakes a range of complex and critical technical activities, providing high level specialist technical skills in the planning, development, maintenance, problem resolution and support of the technology platforms and systems servicing Parliament and Electoral Offices.

Essential Minimum Requirements: There are no essential qualifications required for this position.  Applicants must demonstrate expertise and experience associated with the requirements of the role.

Senior Editor

The Senior Editor provides high level writing, editorial and film production services for the department with a particular focus on overseeing and improving the quality of written and film work for deployment online and editing publications across the department. Business Administration Trainee

The Business Administration Trainee is responsible for providing support to staff that contributes to the delivery of section programs, projects, systems and services including assisting with the provision of information, community engagement and liaison and organising work information, work priorities and development.  The Business Administration Trainee is required to contribute to effective workplace relationships, maintain business resources, create and use databases, design and produce business documents including reports and newsletters as well as design, produce and participate in electronic media communication methods. Travel to remote Outback locations often requiring periods of being away from home overnight will be required.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: Required to enroll and complete a Cert 3 and AQF IV traineeship Certificate in the time required.  

Special Conditions: Due to strict funding criteria attached to this position, the following eligibility criteria applies:

  • Aged between 17 – 24, no previous full-time employment, a regional SA resident (the position is based in Port Augusta
  • No higher than a Cert III qualification held, willing to disclose previous convictions and undergo a national police check. Hold a current driver’s license
  • Outgoing and engaging personality, demonstrated leadership qualities

Design Advisor

The Division

Development Division comprises six directorates: Information and Strategy, Investment Management, Architecture and Built Environment, Property, Planning and Transport Policy, and Office of Recreation and Sport.

The Architecture and Built Environment Directorate promotes the value of design to enable quality built environments, leads and delivers design review and establishes policy and practice frameworks for achieving design quality in the built environment. The directorate also provides strategic leadership to the government’s accommodation and property services.

Duties

The Design Advisor is responsible for high-level design analysis, critique and advice relating to development proposals across the state. The role is also responsible for undertaking analysis and providing advice relating to development proposals in the design review program and establishing and maintaining best practice design review processes relating to development proposals. Other duties include to support the development and establishment of frameworks that enable design quality in the built environment and to promote the value of design advice.

Key relationships will be with staff within the directorate, internal and external stakeholders including Development Division, other state agencies and Industry partners.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: A degree in a design discipline such as architecture, urban design, planning or similar.

Special Conditions: Experience in and understanding of the design review process.

Key Duties

Senior Planning Officer (PO3) (2 roles, one 2 year contract and one ongoing role)

The role provides expert advice and undertakes on a range of projects and programs that implement the Planning Strategy and other strategic outcomes. The key focus areas for this role are:

  • Providing expert advice in the lodgement and processing of complex development applications under ROSAS, particularly those proposals requiring greater levels of negotiated outcomes, agency and local government coordination and the provision of technical advice to the State Coordinator-General.
  • Providing expert planning advice in assessing development applications, including those called in by the Coordinator-General, or Crown and Major Developments.

Team Leader Strategic Assessment and Investment (PO4) (up to 4 ongoing roles)

The role provides an opportunity to be part of a range of projects and programs that implement the Planning Strategy and other strategic outcomes. The key focus areas for this role are:

  • Providing expert planning advice in the areas of assessment, policy and strategic planning.
  • Strong leadership skills that help build a responsive culture that delivers key programs or projects.
  • Skills in stakeholder management and engagement, including communication and education programs.
  • Ability to cut through complexity and work with multiple stakeholders to deliver tangible outcomes.

For at least one of these roles we are seeking a person with a high level of technical skills in development assessment, including representation in the ERD Court.
