Fleet Management Officer

Location - Port Augusta

The Fleet Management Officer is responsible for the management and provision of a high level of fleet and asset management service supporting heavy plant and vehicle assets.  The role includes field operations such as contract monitoring, fleet maintenance management and asset acquisition, replacement and disposal. The role requires broad experience with plant and mechanical asset management and the writing of high level management plans.  The understanding of procurement utilising SA Government purchasing procurement policies is essential as is the ability to communicate effectively with management, plant operators and third parties.  Negotiation with third party repairers regarding work required and approval of repair quotes, the investigation of causes of mechanical breakdowns and the inspection of a wide range of plant for WHS compliance are integral requirements.  A sound understanding of the Road Traffic Act 1961 and other legislation regarding plant ownership is required.

Essential Qualifications: Mechanical tradesperson qualifications or diploma or higher in mechanical or vehicle engineer. A current drivers licence is essential

Senior Communications Adviser

The Senior Communications Adviser provides high level account management services to the department with an emphasis on media, communications and community engagement advice for major projects, programs and initiatives. The role is responsible for the delivery of high quality, integrated and cost effective communication outcomes and the coordination and implementation of an integrated communications approach with business areas, the communications team and external suppliers and providers. The role requires the incumbent to possess political acumen and work under limited supervision. Leasing and Property Management Project Officer

The role is responsible for assisting in ensuring a smooth transition of a portfolio of properties within the Leigh Creek Township to State Government management on 1 January 2017. The role will undertake negotiations regarding new leases and renewals on a range of commercial and community properties and manage a range of contracts, agreements and leases from an operational, financial and procedural perspective, maintain up to date and accurate information in the property data base and undertake negotiations regarding property management and operational issues on behalf of the Department and the Minister.

Essential Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Property, Business or a relevant discipline is desired.
