Surveys are used to obtain information about the ways that children travel to school. They are conducted at specific stages during the five-year life of a Way2Go School Travel Plan.

Baseline surveys

  • provide data that assist in development of School Travel Plans
  • involve parents/carers, students and teachers
  • are completed electronically.
Younger students R-Yr 2
Older students Yr 3-7
Parents/Carers
Teachers

Hands-up surveys

  • collect ongoing travel data at selected stages during each five-year School Travel Plan
  • involve students only and are conducted in-school.

Five-year review

  • is conducted towards the end of the school's five-year School Travel Plan
  • measures trends in how children travel to school
  • indicates areas for development in the school's next five-year School Travel Plan.
